Alex Kidd is renowned for being one of the true innovators of harder-edged electronic music.
It was a decade ago that the Manchester native started working life behind the counter of his local record shop.
From there he was asked to DJ at gigs around the city and soon carved up a reputation as one of the most exciting spinners in the North of England.
By 2007 Kidd had established himself as the country’s number one hard dance artist and had secured headline slots in every UK dance music festival that year including Global Gathering, Planetlove, Coloursfest and Westfest, not forgetting the huge Dance Valley festival in the Netherlands.
A residency with Keep Ibiza Tidy and a tour of Australia with hardstyle superhouse Q-Dance followed, before Kidd was crowned as Best DJ at the 2008 Hard Dance Awards.
A BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix resulted in Kidd’s sound feeding through speaker cables throughout the world and with an ever-growing legion of fans the energetic showman set about creating his own music brand - Kiddfectious was born.
In just two years with Kiddfectious, hand in hand with its quirky festival sister brand Kiddstock, Kidd has developed a diverse and innovative record label, staged a multitude of groundbreaking club events, released highly acclaimed CD albums and compilations, taken the Kiddstock festival to every corner of the UK and Kiddfected Ibiza.
This year sees the official Kiddfectious World Tour with dates across Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand already untaken and a multitude of others yet to be announced.
And as Kidd continues on his journey to world domination it is he who sets the standard for hard dance DJs and producers across the globe.
